Located in Douglas County as part of the west metro area of Atlanta, Harvester Christian Academy effectively serves families of K4-12th grade students from surrounding cities and counties, as well as several foreign countries. HCA is dually accredited by Cognia and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Roles & Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the school’s annual budget in coordination with the Head of School and Board of Directors.Monitor and report on financial performance.
Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Manage cash flow and banking relationships.
Ensure compliance and timely follow-up with ACSI and other accreditation recommendations.
Oversee student billing and tuition collection (including platforms such as FACTS and RenWeb).
Prepare and process payroll, including timesheet reviews, tax reporting, deposits, and year-end statements (W-2s, 1099s, donation receipts, etc.).
Facilitate programs such as GOAL and PROMISE.Administer school insurance policies.
Manage banking duties, bookkeeping, and maintain current financial records.
Administrative Management:
Oversee procurement processes and vendor contracts.
Manage human resources functions including payroll administration and staff recruitment.
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
Implement and monitor risk management policies.
Support faculty/staff in-service training, professional development, and school events.
Strategic Planning:
Support the leadership team with strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
Provide financial analysis and forecasting to inform growth and decision-making.
Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with the Head of School, faculty, staff, and Board of Directors.
Effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.
Build and maintain positive relationships within the school community.
QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field—or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Prior experience in financial and business management, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment.
Required Skills:
Strong financial analysis and budget management abilities.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in financial software and relevant computer applications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Discretion and discernment in handling confidential matters.
Knowledge of educational finance laws and best practices.
Accountability:
The Business Manager is expected to:
Attend Board meetings, as requested.
Prepare and present a written monthly report on school finances and business operations.
Perform all duties in alignment with school policies and procedures.
Keep the Head of School and Board informed of any significant issues or potential risks.
Provide feedback, counsel, and annual written evaluations for direct reports.
